Thank you for visiting our districts website! Please allow me to give you some information about what we do and why. Our district is composed of 29 Lions Clubs within 4 counties, Lackawanna, Susquehanna, Wayne and Wyoming. Our first club in our district was the Scranton Central Lions Club in 1923, only 6 years after Lions Club International was established 1917 in Chicago, Illinois. Our newest club is the Eynon/Archbald Lions Club established 2010.
We have often been labeled as the “people who collect eyeglasses”. Even though this is true, we have grown to do so much more. Our motto is WE SERVE and that is what we do, by helping fire victims, flood victims, hands on disaster relief, food baskets over the holidays, supporting the Boys & Girls Scouts, supporting softball and baseball teams, etc. and of course, providing eyeglasses, hearing aids, brail readers, magnifiers for reading, and curing River Blindness, Diabetes, Childhood Cancer. So see, the list goes on and we are proud to serve.
If you would like to become a member of a Lions Club please click on the Contact tab in the right-hand corner of the webpage, provide your name address and message. We would love to have you join our organization, which is the largest humanitarian organization in the world with over 1.4 million members. Also, if you, your family or friend is in need of help, click on the Contact tab and notify us of what the need is and we will do our best to help.
In Service & In Friendship,
District Governor Cathy Metschulat
